Whether you buy or rent an RV, you need to get insurance. What kind depends on how you use the RV. If it’s a fifth wheel or travel trailer, your auto insurance might cover it. Or you may need a separate RV policy. Check with your agent to be sure. If it’s a motor home, Texas requires liability insurance to cover accidents that you cause. You need comprehensive and collision to cover damage to the camper itself. If something happens to stuff inside the RV, your home policy pays, but coverage is probably limited. Call your agent to check your limits. Most home and renters policies don’t cover RVs. If you live in an RV, consider a separate RV policy.
