Hello Welcome back to Rturkdemir channel! I’m Ria. How are you guys doing? It’s getting colder here. However inside the home we use heater, We can wear short sleeves t-hirt and other summer clothes too when its inside May we are always in good condition. AMEN! Say AMEEENNN!! Back to today’s topic.. If you follow my instagram, you should know that me and husband were just back from vacation. We went to a city named Lviv in Ukraine For you who just knew this, you’d probably has not follow me on Instagram. No worry. You’re not late. You still have time to follow my instagram after watching this vlog. My instagram is also RTURKDEMIR also, same as my youtube account. Okay?!!! You don’t have any idea what is LVIV? It’s okay! I didn’t know too until my husband asked me to go there. Hubby : Let’s go to Lviv! Me: What? Really I didn’t know. Lviv is one of the cities in Ukraine. The spelling in alfabet is LVIV, and you pronounce it as LVIV. So, the city named Lviv, and Ukraine is the country. To know it better, let’s take a look at the map where Lviv is. Lviv is a city in western Ukraine. It’s next to Poland. You should have heard about Poland, right?! It’s said this is the reason how Lviv got its Catholic influence from Poland. We flew from Turkey to Lviv.. That is the distance. Yes, it is far from Indonesia. To make it clear why you should watch this travel vlog.. Why am I so confidence that you would be interested to travel to Lviv or Ukraine? I will tell my arguments to persuade you to travel to Lviv before I give tips for traveling to Lviv. There are 2 main reasons for Indonesians to visit Lviv, Ukraine. As my experience, Ukraine visa is quite easy for Indonesians. How easy the visa making.. I’ll explain later at the video. Keep watching to know how! The second reason is… It is CHEAP! How cheap is it? Let’s compare to my trip to Italy 2 years ago. We bought a simcard + internet for 30 Euro. Only for 1 simcard. In Ukraine, 1 simcard + UNLIMITED 3G Data, It only costed less than 3 Euro! It was 10 times cheaper!!! Unbelievable! Thus, if you want to have a Europe trip, but do not have Euro budget, Ukraine is one of the alternative travel destinations for you. How much is eating outside there? If you visit those famous places in Europe, It’s good if you can find meal worth 10 Euro. Mostly if you eat in Restaurant, you may spend 20 Euro per person (meal + drink). In Lviv, both of us only spent around 200 Ukranian Hryvnia. More or less is similar to 6 Euro for 2! So, IT IS ONLY 3 EURO per PERSON!! Incredibly cheap! (if you compare to other famous destination in Europe. That was the TWO MAIN Reason : EASY VISA (for Indonesians) & CHEAP! Next: more good reasons! The third… if you are coffee, wine, and chocolate’s fan, this Lviv city is famous for those 3 items! They do have a cute and authentic cafes.. and of course with the AFFORDABLE PRICE! [Camera was shaking itself when I said “HOROR” -.-] No, It was not intended like this ;;;; [Rewind] [REPEAT / TAKE 2] Next, number 4! If you like thriller, horror, or spooky stuff.. Try to visit there in Autumn. The dried trees with its branches + the old buildings will make you feel something! And this one is rarely told in blog or vlog about Lviv, Many churches in Lviv has dungeons where you can enter too! It was museums, but to me it was more to *sorry* haunted house.. [Sorry if I offended any of you] The last one, you should see it a lot when you browse about Lviv.. Many of them said that Lviv is a beautiful city with its vintage charm. It sounds boring and maybe you wont believe it.. Pictures can lie, yes I know! But you’d better check it yourself and say your opinion after that. The city was truly small beautiful cozy city.. I didn’t regret we went there. So, are you interested now? You should be! Let’s move on to tips to travel to Lviv in Ukraine. [This part is only for Indonesians who needs visa to visit Ukraine. You can skip to 09:04 for the next tip!] [Where should you stay?] Many options for accomodation. You can check airbnb, booking.com, and other online bookings. We stayed at Taurus Hotel. We booked from booking.com. Rooms were okay, neat and clean. Price was also nice. It was 25$ per night. It’s included a nice buffet breakfast.. And they have RICE!! The cons was the hotel was located far from the tourist center. We had to walk around 20 mins from hotel. [Ticket Price to Lviv] From Indonesia to Lviv, yes it can be expensive.. So, I suggest you to fly to other country nearby Ukraine which has better price offer. Then, you buy round trip ticket to Lviv from there. It should be cheaper. For Indonesians, I suggest you to transit at Turkey since visa is easy too. We flied with Pegasus, Turkish low cost carrier. Round trip ticket for $145 USD per person. [Money Exchange & Credit Card] You can bring dollar, euro, even Turkish Lira to be exchanged there. They have many currency options there. You can exchange money in the airport. Just exchange little in the airport. Because money changer is everywhere in the city, and of course with better rate! For you who prefer to use credit cards, please note to ask everytime you go to restaurant whether or not they accept card. We experienced some big fancy restaurant refused to take card for payment. Only cash.. Several time we were running out of cash because of this kind of unexpected cash spending. [Buy Sim Card & Internet Data] I recommend you not to buy Sim Card at the airport because it was more expensive and the woman did not give a right instruction. They simcard system there is you buy simcard, then you put some credit to it. Then, you have to buy a data package first with the credit you added before you turn on your mobile data. At first, we did not know, we just topped up without buying any data package. Our credit was gone for a short internet, not unlimited as it said at the card’s package. You’d better check for Vodafone’s official store to buy your simcard. The place that we bought knew english and so helpful. [Is English enough there?] I saw many blogs an vlogs mentioned they found difficulty using English while traveling to Lviv. Hmm… our experience was not like that.. We always found someone who help us in English. For example, in a restaurant, there should be one guy can speak English. Also our hotel receptionist was fluent in English. They spoke Ukraine language. If you know Russian, they may understand too. You can also use google translate photo to translate written stuff. [Transportation in Lviv] We traveled around Lviv by walking, didn’t take any public transportation. They have tram and bus too actually. One of the reasons we did not take any public transportation there was.. I saw an old tram was passing with a little electric short at the upper part that connected to the cable. I did not want to take a risk, so we didn’t take any. We only take taxi, from and to airport. [Water and Soda (Sparkling water) looks similar!] So, water and sparkling water in Ukraine both are sold on 2L bottle. They both look similar and NO ALPHABET at all at the bottle 😀 How to differentiate? This is the writing for Sparkling water… If looks like this, its water 😀 The easiest way to differentiate is by the color There were green, dark blue, and light blue. Watch out! The same blue, but the lighter one is the water!! Gooduck buying water there! HAHA Yes, we mistakenly bought SPARKLING WATER 2 TIMES! ^^;; [Restaurant & Café] If you are like me “often go to toilet”.. Mostly the restaurant and café there have nice toilet. And they also provided electric plugs to charge our phones!! Btw, the plug is same as Indonesian and Turkish one. And the last thing I wanna remind you that people eat pork in Ukraine. If you don’t eat pork, please be warned everytime you eat there. Because even an Uzbekistan restaurant in Lviv served pork too surprisingly ^^;; So always concious what you eat there if you don’t eat pork. That’s all travel tips from me May this video be helpful for you who are looking for a new destination to travel.
