What happens if the insurance company gives
you a low ball offer? My name is Benjamin Von Schuch. I’m a personal injury lawyer in
Atlanta, Georgia. What happens if the insurance company gives you a low ball offer? Well at
this point you really have two options. The first one is to accept that low ball unfair
offer which I don’t recommend. The second is to file a lawsuit.
Now this is why you’ve hired an attorney and that’s to hold the insurance company accountable
to make sure that they are giving you a fair and reasonable compensation and a fair and
reasonable settlement. If they are low balling you and we file a lawsuit we’re doing so because
both you and I agree as a team that the value of your case is worth a lot more and we can
win more at a jury trial. This doesn’t necessarily mean your case won’t end in a settlement.
The insurance company might later on ask for mediation. The other attorney might decide
to settle the case and persuade the insurance company that they need to change their offer
and they determine that they are actually low balling us.
So there are numerous things that can happen if the insurance company does offer a low
ball settlement. It doesn’t mean that you have to accept it. As a team we need to move
forward with a lawsuit and either get that fair compensation in a settlement or have
a jury trial and win your fair compensation. My name is Benjamin Von Schuch. I’m a personal
