Hello my name is Vic Schumacher with HPE Financial
Services. I’m an insurance broker representing a variety of different insurance companies
in health insurance, life insurance and annuities. The question was asked how do you sell insurance.
Well you don’t really sell insurance, if a person has to sell insurance they are going
to not become very successful. Insurance concept can be marketed to consumers a variety of
ways. You can do it through direct mail, you can do it through vending machines like flight
insurance. You can do it through television commercials, call a eight hundred number and
the consumer calls in. The consumer themselves however, can find the insurance they need
by going online, look at newspaper ads, go to the yellow pages and look at find insurance
companies. And then decide what they want the insurance for. How much they can afford
to pay for a premium. What is the purpose of the insurance policy. How long do they
want it for. Those types of questions a good insurance agent broker will ask. And based
upon the way that you reply to those questions they can present a variety of products from
different insurance companies that meet the needs of what you are trying to accomplish.
You don’t want to try and sell insurance, you want to try and help the customer obtain
