Hi, I’m Kate from Consumers for Affordable Health Care I’m here to talk about how to compare your plan options on the Marketplace. There are about 16 different plans available for most people, with two different companies. There’s Harvard Plgrim and Community Health Options. Those plans are divided into three groups or three medal levels There’s Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Bronze plans have the lowest monthly premiums, so they are going to cost the least each month just to keep the plan. But they have higher deductibles and higher out of pocket costs. So they are not going to cover a lot until you meet that deductible. Silver plans are a bit more expensive each month but they tend to have a little bit of a lower deductible and cover a bit more of your services. Gold plans are going to be the most expensive each month but are also going to have the lowest deductibles and probably cover the most when you go see your doctor. When you’re looking at plan options don’t forget to check the drug list to make sure your prescriptions are covered and the provider directories to make sure your doctors are in-network.
