Hello, and welcome to Good Neighbor Insurance this is Mark Sequeira and today I’m gonna be talking to a little bit about personal liability for group travel insurance. I have another video on personal liability for individual travelers here on YouTube so if you’re family traveling overseas or you are going overseas to volunteer or you’re purchasing your own personal emergency health insurance, emergency travel insurance for medical needs overseas, you’ll want to look at that video (at https://youtu.be/c4nVSJIp6Mw). This video is specifically about personal liability on Team travel plans or group travel plans. A group can actually be as small as one or two members – but if you have a group of people who are traveling overseas together and you want to buy a group policy to cover each person or each person is gonna apply but, you’re gonna get a group plan, so you have one contact person; you have one emergency number; one claims number; in case there’s an accident or something. Group plans are great for this kind of thing. They’re also great for making sure everybody meets the requirements that your organization wants them to have. So unlike individual travel policies, where you’re not so sure if they purchase a good one, or if certain things are included or excluded, or if the deductibles are correct or whatever – By having a group travel plan through Good Neighbor Insurance, you make sure that your requirements (from your, board, or the requirements that you set) are included in that travel plan. Many organizations require liability, personal liability, as part of their travel plan or travel insurance. The reason is: In case somebody going overseas injures another person accidentally or they end up damaging property, the organization does not get sued for damages. We have a lot of people calling us up, and organizations (out of the tens of thousands of organizations that we insure every year) they will say, “Hey, do you have policies that include personal liability, because that’s required, by our organization?”… “And we’re looking for a good insurance quote an effective affordable insurance plan for our volunteers or for our staff but, we have to make sure it includes personal liability.” The answer is, “Yes we can, help you, we have two plans.” I’ll recommend one to you, called our HCC Day Tripper and i’ll put a link to both of these down below in the comments so you can find them (HCC Daytripper is at https://www.gninsurance.com/day-tripper-short-term-group-travel/ ). You can also look on team travel or group travel page under gninsurance.com (https://www.gninsurance.com/travel-insurance-for-groups-traveling-together/). But that first plan is called “Daytripper” and again, i’ll put the link below. It includes $10,000 in personal liability per person on your team or your group. You can also upgrade that to $100,000. You can also ask us to set up a page where the option is included. The optional rider to include up to $100,000. $10,000 is included in every policy, but you can also add a rider to add an extra $90,000USD so the total is $100,000USD of personal liability. Personal injury, personal property of a third-person overseas that is hurt or their property is damaged. Now a couple things about the day tripper plan… Because the laws are different in every individual state regards to selling health insurance This Daytripper policy is not available to residents of New York, Maryland, or Washington (the state of Washington). Unfortunately we though we are licensed as GNI in almost all 50 states to sell health insurance, we are not able to make this particular policy available to residents of New York, Maryland or Washington. I’ll get back to that in a second as to what you can do if you are one of those. If you live in one of those states. The other thing is Canadians cannot purchase this policy while they are physically in Canada. So if they’re coming across the border they can buy it once they’re on their trip somewhere or wherever they’re going abroad. They can buy it then, but they can’t buy it while they’re physically in Canada. This plan also does have a nice AD&D rider as, well, which is basically life insurance (if they are in an accident overseas) for your volunteers, while they’re away from home. A lot of times, your domestic life Insurance policy will cancel you and/or will not pay out if you’re hurt or killed while abroad. Now if you’re on a short vacation it might be okay, but if you’re going overseas for any length of time, and your insurance finds out something happened to you overseas they may not pay out, so it’s a nice thing for your volunteers to have. Again, to have $50,000 in the basic policy. (it’s just included) but you can once again upgrade that/optionally upgrade it to another $50,000., so $100,000.USD of Accidental death or dismemberment coverage, while your volunteers or your staff or overseas. So…those are a couple nice things about the Daytripper plan. Of course all the travel benefits are also included on this plan: Emergency medical, including emergency evacuation, all those type of things. All of our plans will include that, but you can look down below and follow the link to find out more about Daytripper.
Now the other policy (if you’re in one of those states I mentioned earlier, you’re Canadian, any other issue) either coming to the U.S. or you’re going from the U.S., you may want to consider as a team plan, the IMG Patriot International Team Plan or the IMG Patriot America Team Plan (https://www.gninsurance.com/patriot-short-term-team-insurance/) Both, IMG Patriot America, and IMG Patriot International include $10,000USD as a benefit for personal liability (for everyone regardless when you buy the policy you have $10,000 in personal liability per person). It does not have an optional upgrade to upgrade – So ten thousand is the maximum. That includes injury to a third person after a 100 dollar deductible; or damage to a third-person’s property with a one hundred dollar deductible. So, again the max for both property and individual personal injury would be ten thousand dollars. So that might be a good option for you and your group. You may want to consider that option.
So those are our two options for teams. Again, check out our other video (at https://youtu.be/c4nVSJIp6Mw) if you’re interested in individual liability coverage. I have a couple of other options there. I hope this helps you. Again, you can always email us at [email protected] That’s [email protected] or phone us at 480- 813-9100 and we would be happy to answer your questions about personal liability. The best options and team plans, or about setting up a team plan for your organization. A plan that includes all the various things you’re going to need to fit where you’re going, what your volunteers are doing, their ages, that kind of thing. We will help get you the most effective travel plan and benefits at the best price. alright, this is Mark, Good Neighbor Insurance. Thanks for your attention and have a great day. Bye!
